JOB TITLE: Project Controls Specialist


  • The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for leading the project teams in Cost Control, Planning and Risk to ensure that the project objectives are met in terms of budget, on time delivery and to track and report on project deliverables and targets


  • Key Responsibilities & Activities
    • Contribute towards creating a positive HSEQ culture across the assigned project
    • Manage assigned team (project specific) for (planning, document control, risk) in achieving the project objectives, & assurance rigor
    • Responsible for integrity of data that is reported
    • Assist the Project Manager in all contractual matters including notices & variation orders.
    • Affluently participate in monthly project reviews including engaging with financial controller in developing a credible project forecast.
    • Preparing and maintaining project budget and forecast
    • Tracking and monitoring project spend and reporting variances
    • Identify Risks and Opportunities
    • Develop WBS and Rules of Credit
    • Develop and maintain project cash flow
    • Drive risk mitigation
    • Maintain Project Controls KPI's-Engineering, Procurement, Document Control, Cost, Schedule and Risk
    • Review and manage of key vendors/fabricators schedules
    • Drive project deliverables
    • Assist the Project Manager in preparing monthly reports for PMR
    • Eloquently represent the project and the company as a brand ambassador in achieving the required objectives
    • Agile & innovative in applying observed lessons learned and eliminating waste

    • Operate within Schlumberger Business Code of Conduct & Management Principle
    • Support standards and procedures for the PC function

  • Preferred Experience and Education
    • Professional qualifications - 4 year degree qualified ideally in Cost Management, Project Management, Finance or Engineering. MBA is a plus
    • Strong Planning and Scheduling background in Primavera
    • Experienced in managing a team
    • Min 5+ broad experience in EPC Oil and Gas projects
    • Audit Controls and Financial Background is a Plus
    • Desirable - Related Professional Body Membership

    • Technical knowledge and application of Project Services practices
    • Eloquent communication, and commercial negotiation
    • People development
    • Cultural awareness and sensitivity
    • Primavera P6 is a plus

    • Understanding of the Oil and Gas industry in package and module fabrication (facility construction is plus)
    • Understanding of OSF business model
