We are seeking SEND Teaching Assistants for Secondary SEND schools in North Shields. About the role The role is full time Monday-Friday. You will work alongside the class teacher and other classroom practitioners to support the academic and personal development of all students. You will encourage every student to have respect for themselves and others and help to provide a caring environment to promote the safety and well-being of every individual. You will help to teach the students skills to enable them to cope with the challenges of the world around them, whilst providing an engaging curriculum that meets their social, emotional and academic needs. About the school The school caters for secondary aged children with SEND including ASC and MLD. The aim of the school is to create a safe, pleasant and caring atmosphere in which all students can make progress and can develop their personal skills. Requirements To be considered for the role of SEND Teaching Assistant - North Shields you will: Have a desire to engage and support children and young people in learning and education. Have a patient, kind and caring persona. Previous experience of supporting children, young people or vulnerable adults in schools or care settings. Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.
