About the role Nexperia is a world-class leader in semiconductor development and in-house production committed to ongoing investment in next generation technologies, state of the art high-volume manufacturing facilities and above all, people! We have an exciting opportunity for a Silicon Engineer to join our growing Engineering team as part of our expansion. In this role you will work as part of the engineering operations group to qualify new silicon suppliers and ensure that they meet our business requirements. What you will do Qualification of new Silicon suppliers and Silicon sourcing requirements to meet business needs Monitor Silicon supplier yield performance and initiate corrective actions to improve or rectify yield performance Initiate and coordinate cross functional teams to lead yield improvement activities relating to Silicon suppliers Monitoring of yield performance, reporting of discrepancies, and initiation of corrective actions in wafer fab via process engineering or with materials suppliers via purchasing Carry out the appropriate analysis required to identify opportunities for yield improvement on individual product types, and participation in cross functional yield teams to achieve defined yield targets To ensure the integrity and content of Silicon specifications and to liaise with suppliers for changes to specifications based on business needs To support quality engineers with 8D investigations of customer complaints To support the introduction of new products and process technologies in the Diefab. To work in conjunction with Development Engineering to improve yield from the development stage and continue into full production What you will need Education to Degree Level or equivalent in appropriate discipline Min 2 years in a semiconductor manufacturing environment Understand the properties of Silicon and the requirements to produce high quality PowerMos devices The working principals of semiconductor devices and relationship between electrical characteristics and Silicon properties Good knowledge of data analysis techniques that aid the identification of root causes of yield problems Ability to summarise and communicate complex technical results such that other engineering personnel can understand and propose necessary corrective actions Preferably Six Sigma Green Belt certified level Proven project management skills also preferred Why work for us?
